A First-Timer’s Guide to Stockton Market

Maybe you’ve driven by Stockton Market a dozen times. Maybe you’ve dined at the Inn. Or maybe you’ve only stopped for gas - or heard of Stockton, New Jersey, and never quite made the trek.

We’ve put a lot of love and thought into Stockton Market. It’s a passion project, and that means we don’t cut corners - even when it’s not the easiest way.

Here’s the scoop on the “who,”what,“ & “why” - and we promise the trek will be worth your time.

Who

Stockton Market is owned and operated by Dana Ashburn, originally from Solebury, PA. Dana spent her late teens and early twenties working at the market café, learning the rhythm of the space from the inside out. When the opportunity arose to reinvent the market with the same heart and soul - just reimagined for today - she went for it. From the beginning, her goal has been to create a place that feels both elevated and deeply welcoming, where good food, thoughtful sourcing, and good people come together naturally.

The kitchen is led by Head Chef Chadd Jenkins, formerly of Little Fish in Philadelphia, who works closely with local farmers and distributors to bring in the best seasonal ingredients, from fresh fish to peak-season vegetables.

Bread is baked fresh daily by Head Bread Baker Chef Matthew Sivulich, whose years of experience in New York kitchens show up in every loaf. Pastries and desserts come from Head Pastry Chef Guada Moron, whose croissants, beautiful tarts and dreamy ice cream flavors have quickly become customer favorites.

Together, this team bakes daily, cooks from scratch, and shares a commitment to making food that feels intentional, seasonal, and genuinely good. They are joined by a team of talented cooks, bakers, baristas, retail staff, and managers who keep the wheels turning every day.

What

Stockton Market is a bakery, café, and provisions shop shaped by the seasons.

When you walk in, you’ll find:

  • Fresh bread, pastries, and desserts baked in house

  • Seasonal prepared foods and thoughtfully curated provisions

  • Goods hand-selected from within roughly a 100-mile radius

  • Chef favorites, local flowers, and house-made pantry items

  • Cooking tools, table linens, cutting boards, and easy gifting finds

Our coffee program features roasts from Equator Coffees alongside a carefully chosen tea selection. You’re welcome to stay awhile with whatever drink suits the moment.

We serve a made-to-order breakfast and lunch menu from 8am–3pm, built around the same ingredients and values you see throughout the market - simple food, done really well and very tasty.

Why

Stockton Market exists to make good food more accessible - not just in quality, but in feeling. The goal isn’t perfection or formality. It’s about creating a space where you can grab a great coffee, check a prepared dinner off your list, pick up something beautiful for your table, or feed a group without stress. Seasons guide the menu, local producers guide the sourcing, and real life guides everything else.

Whether you come in every day or just once in a while, the hope is the same: that Stockton Market feels like a place made for you with products made with the quality you deserve.
